PEX is a name given to the material made up of cross linked polyethylene which is used for making plumbing pipes and tubes and for cross links. Among number of products prepared through it, one such product is PEX elbow. It is available in variety of sizes like 1”, 1/2”, 3/8”, 5/8” and ¾”. The elbows may be made up of either copper or brass and are named after it like copper stub elbows, brass reducing elbows.

The size of a copper stub elbow is 6”x3.5” and it is manufactured to meet ASTM F1807 standards. It consists of an inlet pipe and a spin closed ½” copper pipe size. This particular type of elbow is utilized as a transition between copper pipes and PEX tubing to stub out the walls and floors. It is easy to install and highly compatible which is why it can be used for plumbing applications at both residential and commercial spaces. Another unique feature of it is spin closed outlet which allows for testing the pressure before installation of stop valves. It also prevents debris and dirt from coming inside pipe during construction work.
