Liquid-ring (liquid ring) pumps
A distinctive feature of liquid ring vacuum pumps is that the compression of gas in them by a liquid ring, which is driven vane impeller is eccentrically located in the body.
Before starting the pump to the axis is filled with liquid. During the rotation of the impeller blades liquid discarded the body and between the hub of the impeller and the liquid ring formed sickle space divided by shoulder-blades of the impeller on the working cells, the amount of which varies depending on the angle of rotation of the impeller. At the angle of rotation of the impeller, where the volume of working memory increases, they are connected to the suction box and, through him, filled with pumped gas. When the volume of the working cell will be the maximum, it detaches from the suction box. Upon further rotation of the impeller working cell volume decreases, and it is compressed gas. At a certain angle of rotation of the working cell is connected to the positive window, and gas, by reducing the volume of the working cell is pushed out through the discharge window to discharge pipe.
Drive liquid ring pump is misuse of the motor. Motor shaft is connected to the pump shaft via a flexible coupling. Because the gas is compressed liquid in the pump by a good heat transfer between the compressed gas and liquid, and most chat heat of compression is removed from the gas. To maintain the temperature of liquid ring stable, constantly introducing new portions of cold liquid. Too much fluid is discharged from the liquid ring through the discharge window and delivery pipeline in the liquid separator.
The flow of the compression process with intense heat transfer allows to pump easily decomposed, polymerized, flammable and explosive gas and mixture. The presence of liquid ring and an absence of timing allows the pumps to pump gases containing pairs of liquid drops, solid foreign inclusions such as dust and even the abrasive particles. The appropriate selection of the working fluid can be used for pumping with liquid ring vacuum pump aggressive gases. For example, for pumping chlorine concentration is used sulfuric acid (the concentration of H2SO4 – 97 … 98%).
